These plates also passed NIJ 0101.06 six shot stand-alone tests against 5.56 M193 55 Grain FMJ at 2900fps. In house testing by the manufacturer defeated 30-06 165 grain copper tip trophy. Our new proprietary steel core is far stronger than the AR500. This core of this plate is hardened all the way through unlike the AR500 which is only surfaced hardened. At only 0.197 inches thick this plate is 20% lighter than the AR500 and superior in strength.These plates are a curved, shooters cut design made to fit your body more comfortably and allow for greater range of motion while wearing your armor. All models of this plate come with a 20-year lifetime warranty. We highly recommend that you use our trauma pads in conjunction with these plates.
