CUSTOM SHOP PRODUCTS SAS is the "ultimate record needle" created with JICO's unique technology and meticulous attention to detail. SAS is a record needle with a special tip shape that realizes linear contact between the sound groove and the needle tip, while at the same time reducing friction between the groove and the needle tip, a contradictory condition. The SAS has excellent reproducibility of high and low tones, and a longer life of approximately 500 hours has been achieved. The SAS is made from carefully selected single crystals of natural diamonds. Master discs are necessary for the production of analog records, and master discs are cut by a special lathe. The tips of the SAS series are laser-cut to resemble the tips of a cutting lathe. This allows the SAS tip to reach the deepest part of the sound groove and pick up sounds that cannot be picked up by a normal needle. The larger contact area with the sound groove allows for faithful sound reproduction over a wide frequency range. The unique needle tip shape, only a few microns wide, reduces excess pressure on the groove wall surface and reduces distortion caused by uneven wear.
