FOR SALE IS...OF JEFFREY JONES: FANTASY COLLECTION SET I Portfolio(published by Lenar Fine Arts/Loci Lenar, 1990) One of the 275 ( * +50) copies that all were signed & numbered by Jeff Jones!(there were no unsigned editions!) CONTENTS:Four 8x10" full-color photo-prints of paintings in a 9x12 custom gold-embossed envelope- Bumblebee In Blue- The Accomplishment (also printed smaller on the envelope)- Swords Against Death (a/k/a Waves II)- Kane (a/k/a The Man) Signed and numbered by Jeffrey Jones (aka Jeff Jones, Jeffrey Catherine Jones) on the Kane plate. (the pictures show set #236, but the set you will receive will be a number in the 200 - 275 range (2XX/275) , identical in every way including condition: Mint!) Also included in this in set as originally sold - see the photos - are- a photo-offset color flyer with a fifth Jones painting, Chastity- Certificate Of Authenticity (it is hand-numbered, but the sigs are reproduced, as originally sold)- three reproduced typewritten sheets with bio, biblio and other promotional text- one small paper advising the use of the supplied plastics for preserving the photo-prints Some or all of these additional contents are usually missing when this portfolio is found used! ( * PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT one of the additional 50 numbered AP sets, wherein all four plates were signed) By the way: the only other set produced in Lenar's series of Fantasy Collection photo-print portfolios was for Stephen E Fabian - I have that for sale separately - check my other listings The late Jeff Jones worked only briefly in mainstream comics, doing strips and covers for DC, King, and Charlton in the '60s/early '70s. One of the most legendary, prolific and recognized areas of his work were oil paintings for over 150 covers of sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks from 1967-1977. Simultaneously, he was doing the monthly humorous strip 'Idyl' for National Lampoon, and then in the '80s, 'I'm Age' for Heavy Metal. He was one of the famous quartet of artists known as THE STUDIO, along with Berni Wrightson, Michael Wm Kaluta, and Barry Windsor-Smith.
