Insight Tech MTM V2 Mini Thermal Imaging Monocular L3 Harris AN/PAS-23 + Display

Description: This is a used Insight Technologies MTM-V2 Mini Thermal Monocular. This is a super-compact thermal imager which is normally used by law enforcement for tracking, but can be used for just about any type of activity. It's super small, fits easily in the palm of your hand and additionally could be helmet or weapon mounted (mounts not included). The Insight Technologies company was purchased by L3-Harris several years ago and the unit is known as the AN/PAS-23. It has since been discontinued. The imager has a video-out port and comes with the optional LCD display. This makes it super versatile so you don't have to be looking through the eye-piece the whole time. The original mount on the monitor was cracked and two of the screw terminals are slipping in the monitor. I improvised and used a 1.5" rubber cap which I mounted to the monitor using the existing screw holes, so it can be removed if needed. With this cap, it easily mounts to the eye-piece on the scope. It's not perfect, but it sure works better then having to hold the monitor in your hand. I did include the original cracked mount, but it likely can't be repaired since it's cracked in two places. Aside from that, the monocular is in great physical and operating condition. It powers on with two presses of the power button, you use the UP/DOWN buttons to turn gain up or down. Pressing power while it's on brings you to a menu where you can adjust some of the settings including flipping the image if you are using it mounted to a helmet. You can reverse the polarity of the display as well (black/white). I tested it and it works perfectly, "hot" objects are clearly visible through the scope. It has a built-in red laser as well, the laser point is visible to the human eye and can be seen through the scope as well. The monocular and the monitor can be powered by standard CR123A style batteries, additionally the monitor can be powered by Lithium-Ion 18650 batteries. I included 4 CR123A batteries and two rechargeable 18650 batteries with the listing. All batteries are used and sold as-is based on the nature of batteries. The batteries are not proprietary, so you can replace them inexpensively. A charger is included that could be used to charge the 18650 batteries.
