Description: Hutschenreuther Hohenberg Germany Vintage Echt Kobalt (Real Cobalt) 7" Plate. On dark real cobalt you find a filigree gold decor (with an oriental/asian style touch): a tree, birds and a wagon. The "square" plate has a slightly clover shape with rounded corners and gold rim. Marked is the plate on the back with CM Hutschenreuther Hohenberg Germany. This mark was used from 1948 - 1970. Above the company stamp it says "Dekorentwurf GRIESHAMMER" that means design by Grieshammer. Below you find a red number handpainted "3007" and in black "Echt Kobalt". Incised n the bottom and difficult to read you find the number 214/20(?). Egon Grieshammer (1916 - 2008) was leader of the decor department of CH Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther in Hohenberg from 1953 - 1959. He also worked for other well known German porcelain manufacturers. Considering the details above we would date the plate late 1950s, but can not say it for sure. Stunning vintage item and wonderful addition to any collection! Gorgeous gift! The item is app. 7" x 7" on the widest areas and 6.75" in the middle of each side. H app. 1". It is in excellent used condition. By very thoroughly inspection you can find two spots on the gold rim with slightly reddish discoloration and a dot size lost of gilt on the bottom side of the rim, not visible from the top.
