Description: Up for grabs is an limited production run of only 3 years, GRISWOLD'S ERIE #8 pan 704H from 1907-1909. This pan has withstood the test of time and is ready to be a part of someones daily use cookware or to be admired in a collection. It has been stripped to bare metal. Restored using a food-grade lye bath and electrolysis. Seasoned 3 rounds at high heat with a custom blend of high smoke point oils. Incredibly, for a 110+ year old piece, this skillet sits dead flat with no spins, wobbles, chips or cracks. There is a light pitting on the back which is common for a piece that was used over a coal burning stove from this time period. The cooking surface has a beautiful finishes with minor pitting from the last 110+ years of use. As with any cast iron piece, the cooking surface will continue to darken with use and the pitting may fill in slightly. This piece will outlive all of us and may become a cherished family heirloom.
