Description: We are offering a letter, dated October 22, 1900, from the president of Planet Manufacturing Co., Springfield, Massachusetts with the envelope in which it was mailed. The company manufactured Horse Feed Bags, Halters, Horse & Wagon Covers, Coal Bags, Leather Dust Beaters, and other leather and canvas articles. The letter is to J. B. Bryant, Weston, Vermont, apparently a vendor from whom Planet bought materials for the manufacture of their products. The writer is asking him to hurry and send 500 or 1000 of the 8 in. "bottoms". [We assume the bottoms of the bags were leather, which were made somewhere else and would be incorporated into their final products.] He states they don't have enough bottoms to fill the orders they already have.
