When the screw breaks, the pump shuts down until you replace your diaphragms which I might add is very simple to do in a Hiblow air pump. Very few linear air pumps have this important feature. Without this safety device, your pump would continue to run with failing diaphragms that could throw your shuttle out of alignment and permanently damage your pump.
