Description: Barely used, very good condition HED 3 carbon tri-spoke wheelset. Tubular (sew-up) tires, alloy rim braking surface and quick release axles. The freehub is HG Splined for Shimano/SRAM compatible cassettes, 8 to 11 speeds. Ringle front & rear quick release skewers included. No crashes or falls. Weight: 859g front, 1085g rear I bought these wheels to compete in an Ironman in 2005. I rode on them twice prior to the race and then the race itself. I rode a few short time trials on them after the triathlon, then stopped TT & Triathlon racing. They've been hanging in the garage collecting dust ever since. They need to be sold to someone who will use them. These wheels are perfect for someone who wants to try triathlon and/or time trials but doesn't want to commit to an expensive aero bike just yet. These will work on a conventional road bike with rim brakes and quick release. The alloy braking surfaces eliminate the need for special carbon brake pads as well as providing better stopping power in the rain. The rear hub was overhauled and the sealed bearing replaced September 2024. I will include a second bearing in the sale as I bought two but only needed one.
