This Gansu cabinet was used to store the bedding and linen. It has 3 compartments that can only be accessed from the top. The painting on three panels of this cabinet demonstrates the artisans commanding skill of shui-mo (, "water and ink") also loosely termed watercolour or brush painting. With red square frames, three panels are transformed into 3 beautiful traditional Chinese mountain & water painting. Three panels can turned into 3 doors opening from front.
