Description: This new Piston Action Robot from Ha Ha Toys in China is a very authentic reproduction of the original 1950's Japanese toy. Requiring two C size batteries (not included) in its control box, the robot actions include lighted moving pistons in the helmet as well as a rotating left antenna and walking legs. The robot is approx 8.5" tall. This item was purchased new in 2008 and has remained unused in its box ever since. To confirm the condition and operation of the robot, it was recently removed from the box and powered up. The motor mechanism was found to be a bit sticky, meaning that it may freeze while running and require that the legs be manually moved to coax it back into operation. It seems that the longer it was operated, the better it became. However, for this reason, I am selling this robot "as-is" with the genuine hope that the buyer will have the patience to continue to improve its operation. Cosmetically, it is perfect and will make a great display piece when it's not being operated.
