Description: Gorgeous and must have piece for any Griswold Collector! This a beautiful Griswold No. 18 Heart Star Waffle Iron with the 919 and 920 paddles and matching 915 Tall Base. Made in Erie, Pennsylvania by the Griswold Manufacturing Company in the 1920's. CONDITION: Waffle iron is in very good antique condition. The base has a small wobble when pushed hard on granite countertop corrected by 3 index cards. Cooking surface is in excellent condition on both paddles. The 919 paddle has a slightly duller exterior finish where some rust was removed during restoration (please see pictures), this is very mild but worth noting. Lines on logo are crisp and clear on both paddles.Waffle Iron has no cracks, rust, or repairs. Please see photos as part of description. ~Disclaimer: All vintage and antique cast iron typically shows some signs of wear including light utensil marks, discoloration, and minor pitting. I always do my best accurately picture and describe each piece so you can buy with confidence. RESTORATION: This vintage piece of cast iron has been fully restored and carefully cleaned to bare iron using a combination of electrolysis, lye, and vinegar. It has been seasoned with 3 layers of grape seed oil at 450 degrees for a deep, beautiful, patina finish. Great care was taken to remove handles before restoration and gently oil them to preserve their original plating.
