Description: Well before DC Comics or Warner Brothers released the fan-favorite comic book series Watchmen under their own logos in trade paperback or hardback editions, Graphitti Designs (best known for t-shirts based on super-hero costumes) published this hardcover collection of the entire limited series of twelve issues. And for a while it was the only collection before DC began publication of multiple formats and printings of collections over the years since. This is a hardcover edition that features a leather (or leather like, I am uncertain of which) cover with the iconic "Smiley Face" emblem embossed into the front cover. The back cover features the logo of Graphitti Designs in gold. The indicia on the spine is in silver. Originally accompanied by a slipcase, this copy does NOT include that part. It was part of the estate of a late friend and the slipcover could not be located all of these years later. The book itself is in great condition, page edges are a bit yellowed, possibly with age, possibly they were always that yellow. I cannot put my hands on my personal copy to confirm. The interiors are still pristine. The page-marking ribbon is intact with some minor fraying at the end. Rather than snip off the dangling thread I have left it intact and the buyer is free to correct or leave this purely cosmetic wear. This edition had a very limited print run compared to anything published and distributed by Warner/DC Comics. As such, slipcased volumes appear to close on eBay for over $200. I am starting this auction at a much more affordable price due to a lack of slipcover.
