Description: Here is something you don't see everyday! If you are looking at this item, I assume you know the story and background on GM's EV-1. The vehicle was originally produced with lead acid batteries. Later, they used Ovonic's NiMH batteries. The lead acid batteries got about 80 miles per charge. When they replaced the lead acid with the NiMH batteries, the range increased to about 140 miles per charge. Most of the EV-1's were destroyed. Not sure how many batteries are floating around. Own a small piece of Automotive History. "Who Killed the Electric Car" is a must see documentary exploring the history of the EV-1! You are buying ONE SINGLE CELL taken from an 11 cell pack. The second last picture shows what the complete battery pack looked like. It is NOT included in this sale. Again, you are buying only one cell (1.2 volts). The last picture shows my setup for charging these cells. I was amazed the cells were able to be charged given the fact that they have been sitting idle for the better part of 25 years. I do have more than one, so if you want multiple cells, please let me know! The size of the cell is 1 1/2" thick, 4" wide, and 7 1/2" tall. Shipping and insurance is $4.95.
