Description: These units are surplus from the United States Secret Service. They're unused, but the boxes have been opened for inspection. Approximately 14 units are available for purchase. Each package includes the following: - Glocom GX-10 IDU (Hughes BGANX core) - Glocom GX-10 auto-acquire class 10 vehicular ODU. - Fixed mounting kit for the ODU. - Temporary magnetic mounting kit for the ODU. - 5m (16ft) RG223 coaxial cable. - 5m (16ft) DC power cable. - GX-10 operating manual CD. - RP-SMA WiFi antenna (sizes vary). - 2 spare 15A fuses. - AT&T Memory 530 corded telephone. These units do NOT include: - A SIM card. - Any sort of data plan. - Anything not pictured. These vehicular Inmarsat BGAN systems are particularly well-suited for disaster response, as they can provide voice and data almost anywhere in the world, except for the polar ice caps and portions of Greenland. Additionally, since these terminals use L-band frequencies, they can generally operate in stormy weather much better than similar Ku band and Ka band systems. The GX-10 may work at sea as well, but the ODU is not designed for marine applications and may not be able to maintain lock on a pitching/rolling vessel. These devices are branded as "Glocom GX-10" but they're identical to Hughes 9350 systems (same hardware, same FCC IDs, same firmware, etc.). The Hughes BGANX core used in the IDU is also used in the Hughes 9450. The ODU appears to be the same SpaceCom class 10 ODU used by Hughes 9250, Hughes 9450, Wideye Safari, and Explorer 727 systems, but I cannot guarantee compatibility. Although the pictures include internal photos of the ODU, the item you receive will not have been disassembled in any way.
