Description: GE Vortalex oscillating 3-speed fan, working, FM12V1 Click images to enlarge Description Offered is a GE FM12V1 three speed fan. As the model number suggests, this is a 12" desk model. It has four blades, made of aluminum (I believe). The cage is steel wire, and the base is heavy, so I believe it's steel. There is a tilt feature, and a bakelite knob to control speed. The oscillating feature works, but is a short swing. I believe this is from the location of the screw, as there are three spots for it. This looks like it's set to the shortest stroke. All three speeds work, and the the arbor, if you will, seems straight. No wobble to it. The only flaw I can see in the operation is a slight stutter in the oscillation on the lowest setting. The cord to the wall is newer. Cosmetically, it has a few spots of rust on the edge of the base, and the felt pad is worn and a bit chipped up. The right side of the ID tag is worn off. The cage has some bent areas, but nothing that appears to have interfered with the blades at any time. Blade edges are without wear or chips. As you collectors know, these are heavy. I only ship USPS, so ground will be cheaper, but priority is also offered. I can break the fan down to fit in a slightly smaller box, but it will still be oversize, and may only save a few dollars.
