Description: Hello and welcome to my auction today I am listing a Vintage.... Frankoma Pottery T9 Clam Shell Woodland Moss Glazed Bowl Dish. Beautifully glazed. No chips or cracks. Approx. 7" long x 5.75" wide x 2.5" tall.) This clam shell is not from the first production because it IS NOT MARKED TRADE CLUB WINDS...but it is marked T-9 Frankoma....which is a later production piece.. Bit of back history on the Trade wind line ...and this clam shell pottery bowl.. "This is a Frankoma pottery clam shell, originally designed by Joniece Frank as part of a line produced in 1961 for the Polynesian restaurant Club Trade Winds. There were only a small number of the original pieces produced for Club Trade Winds, because, due to a high rate of theft, Club Trade Winds did not re-order the line. Frankoma, however, continued to produce these pieces due to their popularity, but only for a short time during the 1960s. The difference between the first production and subsequent production is that the first ones are marked Club Trade Winds on the underside and later ones are marked simply "T 9 Frankoma". This, of course, is a later production piece, but still a great addition to a Tiki collection. It is glazed in the Woodland Moss colour over a red clay base......." *please see pictures I use them as part of my description. If you have any questions please contact me and thank you for viewing my auction.
