Date: July 4, 1995 Artist: Walt Disney Feature Animation Description: Led by Roy E. Disney, the Fantasia Continued project was intended to create a new expression of the Fantasia concept... combining classic animation sequences from the prior film with new concepts that could take advantage of emerging technologies in the field of animation. With the success of Fantasia's re-release in 1990, followed by the blockbuster success of the home video release in 1991, Michael Eisner then gave approval to Roy for development of the new film. The watch offered here, was issued exclusively to all cast and crew at Disney animation, as distributed on July 4, 1995 by Roy E. Disney (Executive Producer), Hendel Butoy (supervising animator) and Donald W. Ernst. The card provided with the watch carried the following text: "Happy Fourth of July from FANTASIA CONTINUED - Roy, Hendel & Don." (note: accompanying gift card is rarely found in contemporary offerings of this watch) Presented in custom wooden box with lid. This particular watch features the characters designs for The Steadfast Tin Soldier, as originally inspired by Hans Christian Andersen and re-imagined by Disney directing animator Hendel Butoy. The animation was set to music by Dmitri Shostakovich as Piano Concerto No. 2. Dimensions: Box measures approx. 2.5" x 5.75" x 1" Condition: Very good. Battery has expired; needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee whether the interior watchworks remain sound after the past three decades in storage. Never previously worn or used; protective seal still on back of watch.
