In the early 20th century, however, the Barling family began to produce what the brand is today most famous for expertly made briar pipes. This might just be my favorite Barling to have landed on my desk, but then again I was always partial to Canadians. Its a beautiful family era, or pre-transition piece which, as is summarized in our Barling Dating Guide on the main MBSD hub, means that it was made by the Barling family during their ownership and management of the make. This is evinced by the Barlings Make nomenclature and three digit shape code. As mentioned, its a beautiful Canadian and is furthermore very classically inclined in its slightly smaller proportions and featherweight stature. Theres plenty of enjoyable flame grain around the bowl and the shank shows off a strip of pure birds-eye. The condition is great.
