Description: This lot contains eight 10-inch 78 RPM records, all in the opera or vocal genre. All eight are shown in the first picture, then in pairs, both sides, in the following order: Victrola # 507 - "A Dream" and "For You Alone" by Enrico Caruso Victrola # 624 - "Long, Long Ago" and "At Parting" by Geraldine Farrar Victrola # 1032 - "What'll I Do" and "Love Has a Way" by Frances Alda Victrola # 951 - "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise" and "Rose in the Bud" by Reinald Werrenrath Victrola # 3001 - "Oh, That We Two Were Maying" and "Long, Long Ago" by Alma Gluck and Louise Homer Victrola # 829 - "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful" and "Nearer My God to Thee" by Ernestine Schumann-Heink Victrola # 844 - "Gypsy Love Song" and "Duna" by Reinald Werrenrath Victrola # 959 - "A Kiss in the Dark" and "Kiss Me Again" by Amelita Galli-Curci Columbia # A3749 - "Chiming Bells of Long Ago" and "Sweet and Low" by Lucy Gates and Male Quartette Columbia # A3327 - "Love's Old Sweet Song" and "Silver Threads Among the Gold" by Oscar Seagle They all look to be in remarkably excellent condition, beautifully shiny and hardly any visible surface wear. I played them all on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were no skips or repeats, and just typical levels of light background noise for records of this age, with some scattered clicks or pops or short passages of ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment. Also included are the company sleeves shown in the pictures, but some are anachronistic, and they are creased, torn and chipped, and don't add anything to the overall value.
