Description: This charmer from the early to middle 1900's is crafted of hammered tin scraps mounted (nailed) to a varnished natural branch and depicts a hound dog encountering a wild cat and is signed on the back William Tabaczy. Measuring 6 1/2" tall x 14" wide x 3 1/2" deep, the painted details or lots of fun and the sculptor has even added wooden toothpick teeth to the cat's open mouth. The artist reinforced the backs of the figures with plaster or cement and used the cement to jount pieces of tin at the dog's hip joint. This joint has come loose and the sculpture is still sturdy and displays well. There are old shrinkage cracks in the branch and dust in the details and the cat has an old split (stable) in her tail.
