Description: When people talk about Dual the 1219 & 1229 models are the most talked about. This model is the late version where the cue can lift up the tonearm when table is in multi-play. It can pause the album for as long as needed. This function is very desirable to many people. • This precision German made machine weighs 22 lbs with 277 parts ( including microscopic wires) that all have to work precisely together. • The beauty of this Dual 1219 is unlike other turntables as this specific table (with rebuilt gyroscope gimbal) has been set up to continuously play up to 7 33’s & 8 45’s (usually 6 is the most) at a time and automatically shuts off. *This table the multiplay gyroscope gimbal has been rebuilt . The single mode doesn’t work and so I didn’t want to spend any time fixing it because I think that anyone who buys a multi playTT isn’t interested in a single play. It is set to multi setting which the multi-play spindle can play just 1 or several records or albums. • This table has a well polished walnut Plinth with the front that opens to hold accessories. After 50 years it looks great and is beautiful addition to a great turntable. *This table has the plexiglass cover and in near excellent condition except for a few almost invisible blemishes after more than 50 years. • If you’re not going to use the multiplay feature save your money and you can buy a very good single play table for a few hundred dollars or even several thousands. This table sounds as good as the very expensive tables and plays 1 1/2 hours of continuous music than automatically shuts off. This is the beauty of Duals. This was the last Dual that is all metal. The Japanese started making Multiple tables using plastic so to compete with them Dual had to cut costs and started to use plastic also. • This turntable can play 33, 45, 78 speeds but if you continuously change the speed you might occasionally need to use the to reset the speed. *This table has a pitch-control knob. It’s a fine-speed adjustment for all 3 speeds permits a platter speed variation of 6 %, independent of supply voltage. *During multi-play the record can be fast forwarded to next record . It can be stopped & restarted and the tonearm will go to the next record . It can be just stopped and it will shut off. *This model the cue ( tonearm lift lever) can pause any record or album at any time during the multi-play cycle. You should never touch the tonearm except if for some reason you want to start a record manually. • This turntable has a new Headshell with a Shure M93E Cartridge and a Shure HI-TRACK Diamond Stylus . It gives a great sound . You can go and buy one of the expensive Cartridges and stylus but to me personally I don’t hear much of a difference. It’s in your amplifier and speakers that make the big difference. • Rebuilding the multiplay gyroscope gimbal of requires a master of the craft. I had to use one of the few who can fix them and had the hard to find and expensive parts. One of the main parts ,if you can even find it anymore, sells for $200. This rebuilt gimbal cost me $200 to fix. This is why most of the multiplay gyroscope gimbals you see for sale on these tables do not work. Even when it’s advertised as “works perfectly” but doesn’t have a stylus or spinal or mention of multiplay, be cautious as to how well it works. Usually after 30 years like most things they break. • Brought back from the dead this 1219 has been restored to excellent condition. Over 50 years old the main parts have become extremely expensive, extinct and some not able to buy anywhere. This is causing the 1219 in 100% working condition and completely restored to a beautiful and precision machine that it was has become very rare . A German made Workhorse that is good for at least another 20 years it has become a collector item and will be going up in value. * It’s impossible to duplicate this table today. There are many good single play tables from a $100 to $1000’s if you don’t mind getting up every 12 minutes to change the album. • The tonearm has been vertically balance set, leveled, cued, azimuth set, speed tested, anti skating set and everything completely degreased and lubricated. • Fixing these turntables is an unparalleled tedious skill and rebuilds take weeks to complete. Once properly set up it will be silent, smooth, reliable and play flawlessly for many years. This is a very good price for a 1219 for someone who isn’t interested in single play doesn’t function. Me personally in owning Duals for over 55 years I never use it. • When this devise was released years ago it was the top of the line multiplayer turntable that was used to entertain people at parties or just home listening to your favorite music. Recently brought back from the dead the 1219 still reins the top of the line multiplayer. • Stereo Review Magazine: “In every respect a very smooth, flexible and easy-to-use record player will accommodate the most advanced cartridges at their minimum usable tracking forces.” • STEREO & HI-FI TIMES Magazine: “If you want to sacrifice virtually nothing (certainly nothing you will hear) get a 1219. • Due to the age of this device & the uncertain nature of vintage electronics. This unit is being sold as pictured/described. * FYI that whether you buy it from me or someone else these tables don’t like to be shipped . It’s like it has a mind of it’s own and WILL go out of sync. It’s the saying “up the creek without a paddle time”. I am happy to help you setting the table up. This is an extremely complicated machine and I almost alway have to spend a while figuring out what caused the table to go out of sync. It will always go back into sync and will back to being a precision German workhorse for many more years. I’m
