Replace your broken handle and return elevation function to your drill press table with 14mm worm drive shaft. Most modern import drill presses use a 14mm shaft. If a 12mm open ended wrench fits your shaft THEN DO NOT ORDER THIS ONE. If a 14mm open ended wrench fits over your shaft but a 13mm or 1/2" open ended wrench will not fit, then THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU. Made with ABS plastic at solid fill and has a beefy feel. Heavy steel fasteners. Grip spins on steel shaft making handle easy and pleasing to use. All holes and threads are machined in my shop by me for a perfect fit. How to install: Remove your old busted handle, place this new one over the shaft aligning the setscrew hole over the flat on your worm drive shaft. Snug the stainless steel set screw. Ahhhhh, now don't you feel better? This item is one complete crank handle and no other item or prop used in the photo's. The broken factory handle is shown but not included.Note as of 01/18/2019, all units now include metal threads for the setscrew. Much tougher, but still, don't be an animal! Snug is about 1/4 turn past where the setscrew contacts the flat on your shaft. The hand shown is not for sale. Drill Press Tips: You can clean up your column with Scotch Brite. Once you get it clean, coat with 3 in One oil. This will prevent rust. Clean and lubricate the rack gear (long straight gear) and worm gear. Always be sure to release table level clamp before raising or lowering table. Don't forget the occasional dab of grease for the rack and drop of oil for the elevation crank shaft. Keep a block of wood handy to drill into. There is nothing uglier or more telling of a careless owner than peck marks from drilling into the table. ;-) I love my tools. Please take care of yours.
