Description: Original Production Cels of Dirk and the Black Knight from the chessboard stage of Dragon's Lair (1983). Dragon's Lair was one of the most popular and important titles of the Golden Age of arcade games. It provided the inspiration for ever improving graphics in video games, and is one of just 3 arcade games that were recognized for their cultural influence by the Smithsonian Museum. About 20 cels were created for each second of the game. As the entire game lasted only about 10 minutes, not much art was produced and even less survived the past 40 years. The chessboard stage is one of the most memorable moments in Dragon's Lair. Copy background included. Cels are in excellent condition and have never been displayed. There is no line fading or paint separation visible. Cels measure 16.5" x 13.5"
