From the manufacturer Down Proof - Cleaning & Waterproofing Steps 1.PREP AND CLEAN Clean detergent drawer to remove any residue. Place garments in machine. Garments must first be cleaned with Nikwax Down Wash.Direct. Add Down Wash.Direct to washing machine, then wash garment according to care label. Do NOT use household detergents as they will compromise the down. 2. WATERPROOF When the wash cycle with Down Wash.Direct is finished, leave items in washing machine. Shake Down Proof well, add to machine and wash according to care label. (second wash cycle) Do NOT combine Down Wash.Direct & Down Proof together in the same load. 3. DRY Dry according to label (dryer or air dry). Slow spin dry multiple times for best results. 4. FLUFF Gently rub jacket to remove any clumps that have formed.
