Condition: Two short snags to cloth at base of volume one, a few very small dark spots on spine, spine cloth sunned to brown (common for this book), tips lightly rubbed, some light occasional foxing to plates and text, plates retain their tissue guards, attractive presentation inscription on first free endpaper dated Sept. 1869. Overall this is an attractive solid copy of an important mountaineering book, clean cloth with bright text. A Very Good copy. This title is from my personal collection of well cared for Victorian Travel and Exploration books including Africana, Polar Exploration, Middle East, and Asia / Himalayas. From smoke free home.
