Description: Disneyland Walt Disney School 1965 Frontier Airlines 2003 Magazine Star Trek Historic Disneyland Treasures from Saturday's Toys presents... an interesting perspective on the original "Merchants of Main Street" (2003) project at Disneyland U.S.A. in Anaheim, California... along with Anaheim's historic Walt Disney School... as published in the in-flight magazine for Frontier Airlines. The story of these early merchants, lessees, shopkeepers and corporate sponsors on Main Street U.S.A. (1955 - 1959) is a timeless remembrance of twentieth century American enterprise. In learning of this article about Walt's visit to his namesake public school in Anaheim (1965), Walt and Lillian Disney's daughter, Diane Disney Miller, responded, as follows: "I have just read your essay, and I was very touched by it... Your first-hand account of my dad's visit to your school, the letters he wrote to you kids, and to your parents, bear witness to the man he was... Again, thanks so much for your courtesy. I do love your story." Frontier Airlines produced an exclusive look at the remarkable entrepreneurs of Main Street with a spectacular cover and nine-page feature article on Disneyland's early years. The article captures seldom seen early images of both Disneyland in its first decade as well as of Walt Disney in his prime. Selected for inclusion here are the family stories of Ruggles China and Glass Shop (now known as the China Closet) and the original Candy Palace. Also includes a sentimental look at Walt Disney's 1965 Founder's Day visit to Walt Disney School in Anaheim, California. "The Merchants of Main Street" book was initially developed for future publication. The project later materialized as the now hard-to-find book, "The Little Shop on Main Street" (2014). Among the few remaining copies of this original Frontier Airlines in-flight publication, "Frontier Magazine". Circa July / August, 2003. Out of Print; no longer available. Excellent Condition. Unfortunately, the editors of the in-flight magazine created an error or two with dates and photo captions. Still, the stories proved to be of significant interest to Frontier flight passengers, establishing a new record as the most popular in-flight magazine issue in the airline's history. (that was fun news to receive!!) Also includes an article of interest to Star Trek fans; detailing the happenings at popular Star Trek conventions (picturing William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy). 7 pages; with color photos. Full magazine contains 72 pages; in full color. A rare and interesting read from all angles.
