Course orchid mix ( bark, lava , charcoal, perlite, hydroton, etc) is an excellent amendment to liberally use. As an epiphyte, it can not have constantly soggy roots. It can be grown outdoors in locations that do not freeze. Acceptable light requirements range from light shade, filtered sun, filtered midday sun.
