There is no buildup of residue, debris, or dirt within the grooved honing surface. This item is solid with a 1/2-inch diameter rod. The handle is secure. and there is a hanger ring. The manufactures mark is clear and can easily be seen in the third photo. The yardstick shown in the pictures is not included with purchase of this item.
