Also please do not call us asking us to source the correct colour or style for your ski boots, Dalbello produce and supply a couple of variations but we only stock one style to simplify the process. How to identify the correct buckle If you count the buckle closest to the toe of the boot as the Toe Buckle the next buckle up is the Instep Buckle, Next upwards is the Ankle and the last one is the Cuff Buckle Dalbello also change the angle of the buckle depending on whether its on the left or right boot to improve aesthetics and make them easier to use so you will also need to select the correct side. Please Note: The buckle supplied may differ in colour and style to the one in the image. What we supply The pack includes one buckle and a screw rivet attachment kit which comprises of one or two metric screws and one or two metric captive retaining nuts for the inside of the boot. How to fit the buckle The rivets holding the buckle are made of steel so remove using a steel drill with a diameter of around about 6 to 8mm to gently drill off the heads of the rivets. You will need to take care the drill doesnt slip and make a hole in the boot and beware that the drill can grab the plate of the buckle and spin it so keep your fingers out of the way! Then push out the rest of the rivet through the shell to make way for the retaining nut. You will need to make the existing holes in the boot larger using a 5mm drill so the captive nuts will push into the holes in the shell. Then simply offer the new buckle up to the shell and screw together. How to fit the Ankle buckle only The ankle buckle is slightly different to the others in that it attaches to the shell but sits in a groove or recess in the cuff to enable the cuff to articulate correctly. The rivet holding this buckle in place is extremely hard and very difficult to drill out. We recommend using a Dremell grinder or something similar to grind off the top of the rivet before finally drilling it out, a delicate and difficult operation! We can fit this buckle in our workshop and we do charge a small fee for this service, please ring us for a price.
