Description: From the Emmett Kelly Jr. Collection, this porcelain clown figurine depicts his version of ‘Weary Willie’ the clown, made famous by his father! Emmett Kelly Jr., (1923 - 2006) was the son of legendary circus clown Emmet Kelly Sr. He copied his father's unique style and continued to perform until he retired from clowning on his 81st birthday in 2004. Made in Taiwan, the base of the figurine measures approximately 7 1/2" long and 3 1/4" wide and the garbage can is 5" tall. The figurine has been well cared for and is in excellent vintage preowned condition with no cracks, chips or restorations. As with most hand painted figurines, there are some brush lines and uneven paint, along with paint strokes that tend to go from light to dark and may look almost bare. There are also the usual manufacturing or mold marks present which do not distract visually.
