Description: Charles Francis Richter [1900 1985] was an American seismologist and physicist who is most famous as the creator of the Richter magnitude scale which quantified the size of earthquakes. Inspired by Kiyoo Wadati's 1928 paper on shallow and deep earthquakes, Richter first used the scale in 1935 after developing it at the California Institute of Technology in 1928. Listed for auction is the autograph of Charles Francis Richter signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''Charles F. Richter 11/25 1976'' in blue pen. The card measures 5.00 x 3.00 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic, uncommon to obtain and is a nice example of this prominent scientist.
