Description: CELTIC (1901) She was built by Harland & Wolff, Ltd., Belfast, Ireland for the Whie Star Line. She was a 20,904 GT ship with dimensions of 680'x75'. Twin-screw, 17 knots, quadruple expansion engines, four masts and two funnels. Maiden voyage: Liverpool-New York July 26, 1901. Passenger accommodations for 347 first, 160 second and 2,350 third. Converted to cabin class liner in 1928. Went aground in a dense fog at entrance to Queenstown harbor, Dec. 10, 1928 and became a total loss.
