However, the image quality is fantastic, and it's an all-around great 35mm lens. **Please aware that when this lens is detached from the camera body, or when the camera is turned off, you can hear the Voice Coil Motor mechanical elements shifting within the lens when you move the lens around. Canon has stated that this is COMPLETELY NORMAL, and does not affect the function or image quality of the lens. This is simply the way this lens was designed. Once the camera is turned on, the Voice Coil Motor within the lens will also turn on.You will not feel the mechanical elements within the lens shifting while the camera is on. Again, this is the way the camera is designed, it is NOT damaged and there is nothing "LOOSE" within the lens.**
