I'm pretty sure this is a 1st PRINT, but there is no numberline and no indication (which is common for some publishers). There is a price on the front flap (16.95). Jack Youngblood played defensive end with the Los Angeles Rams for 14 seasons during the 1970s and 1980swith a reputation of being one of the most hardnosed playersof his era. During his career, he set a team record by playing in 201 consecutive games. He was was a five-time consensus All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowl selection. Before playing professionally, Youngblood played college football for the University of Florida, and was recognized as an All-American. He is considered among the best players Florida ever produced -- a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and one of only five Florida Gators to be named to the Gator Football Ring of Honor. But what makes this autobiography exceptional is not so much the story of his longevity, but rather his candor about what the game meant to him. His dedication and love were seemingly unqualified, to the exclusion of his wife and family; indeed, his most meaningful human contacts were with fellow players who shared his passion for athletic perfection, mere excellence not being enough. Youngblood recalls with particular vividness the presence of pain as he once played part of a game with a broken leg. Youngblood was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001, and in his acceptance speech he said, “I didn't sack the quarterback every time I rushed the passer. I didn't make every tackle for a loss. I guess — no one could. But, it wasn't because I didn't have the passion to, the desire to. I hope that showed." It did. There is some minor edge wear on the DJ and a 1" scratch (like an exclamation point} on the back cover, but this VERY RARE book is still in very nice condition.
