The Mello Sound of Don Ellitot (Decca DC9208) was recorded in February of 1958, shortly before Evans joined The Miles Davis Sextet. Featured with the leader and the pianist are reedman Hal MsKusick and the future drummer of the Bill Evans Trio, Paul Motian. Listen To The Music of Jerry Wald (Kapp KL1043) was recorded in 1955 and features Wald on clarinet along with Evans, Eddie Costa, and Paul Motian again, in his first collaboration ever with the pianist.
