I apologize for the reflected light/camera in my scans, obviously not part of the actual photo itself, which is clear and particularly high quality. THIS ONE IS PARTICULARLY NICE, of a young woman wearing an early cap, lace, ring, and jewelry. ALSO, HAS SILK FABRIC RATHER THAN LATER STYLE VELVET PLUSH, AGAIN TYPICAL OF THE VERY EARLIEST DAGS AND HELPING TO DATE IT C.1840. This dag has great, early mid-1800's subject matter. Nice seated antebellum pose and appearance. 1/6 plate size, in an early plate brass mat, set in its original leather case. Nice design and is in very good condition. Has both parts of the case, WITH a repaired hinge as often happens with age. STILL THE ORIGINAL CASE THAT THE PHOTO HAS BEEN IN FOR 180+ LONG YEARS!!! THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING, GREAT EARLY EARLY DAG!! VERY UNUSUAL AND VERY NICE TO FIND SUCH AN EARLY, CLEAR ANTIQUE DAGUERREOTYPE PHOTO !!!
