Description: A hard to find antique bronze model of Cupid and Psyche after the Antique, France, late 19th century A very handsome antique French bronze group representing Cupid and Psyche, the classical lovers in passionate embrace after a Roman original (itself a copy of a late Hellenistic sculpture) now in the Capitoline Museum in Rome.This particular bronze group dates from the second half of the 19th century and was cast in France ( it has an original stamp " Reproduction Mechanique" on top of the base). The cast and the patina are exquisite. The group rests on a later circular green marble base. A beautiful model, in very good age appropriate condition. No deep scratches or dents. Size :16" H x 7" in diameter 40.5 cm H x 17.8 cm in diameter Condition: Very good age-appropriate condition. Circular marble base is a little loose and screw needs to be tightened.
