B&C Speakers' line of compression drivers is the result of a continuous research effort dedicated to refine every component in the structure and their overall balance. Diaphragms are made of titanium mylar or polyimide in order to get the required results in efficiency and bandwidth. Their shape and structure is mathematically evaluated well before building the first prototype. Afterwards their performance is tested with methods that range from modal analysis to laser vibrotomy. All voice coils are of the edgewound ribbon type and made of aluminum to reduce mass and achieve the best electro-acoustic performance. The magnet assembly is designed and optimized with up-to-date software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and complemented where needed by a copper cap to improve frequency extension and linearity.
