Because of the dolls' many points of articulation, collectors frequently buy MTM dolls in order to swap their heads with other dolls, thus giving their favorite doll greater articulation. b. Doll customizers and Photographers: Although marketed for children 3+ doll customizer have described the M,T.M body as Barbie's best ever because of it's 22 points of articulation and made heavier and more durable. Photographers prefer the MTM for it's wide range of motion which falls more in line with an action figure than a Doll. Social media sites have shown shots that mimic realistic action - such as riding a bicycle, playing a guitar, gymnastic bends, sitting cross-legged, runway modeling, skiing, skateboarding, and any athletic activity. Works welt with Beach, rural and urban shots. Shots are only as limited as ones imagination. c. R.C Vehicle and Vehicle Modelers: This doll can be used as a pilot or other vehicle operator or passenger for scale RC vehicles. The actual height of the doll is 11.5” (not 12” like the package says) which works out to about 1/6 scale and she weighs in at 7 ounces, sufficiently low enough for Aircraft with the correct scale and power. Doll has a level of detail rivaling pilot and other figures costing hundreds of dollars. Each doll has 22 “joints” - in the neck, upper arms, elbows, wrists, torso, hips, upper legs, knees ,and ankles. Unlike previous Barbie's that required a high skill level with tools wire, heat, epoxy, glue, paint, etc she is ready to go out of the box and into the vehicle. II. Opinion: Given the dolls durability and low price point this doll makes a great gift for young children and adult hobbyists. The doll acepts most Barbie clothing and outfits. If there is a downside she does not come with shoes. Even at the low price point Mattel should have thrown in a pair of sneakers. c. Asian as used in description: Except for Mattel's "Dolls of the World" collection, which was their first foray into Asia, Barbie's are usually not labeled "Asian," let alone Korean or Korean-American or any ethnic group found in the United States refed to as Asian or Oriental. One merely needs to look at Fan sites for Barbie collectors and third-party sellers online to decide the racial backgrounds of the dolls.
