The quarter-inch diameter flange distributes pressure where the screw meets the surface, properly engaging the upgraded lock washer below, never to self-loosen again!Upgraded ear cup bracket lock washers: The original poor-choice external-tooth lock washers whose teeth do not engage the original bracket screw heads are replaced with military-specification stainless steel internal-tooth lock washers, whose teeth are hidden below – and properly locked by – the flange of the upgraded flanged socket head bracket screws.
