The Armenian manuscript illuminations in this work mostly date from the 11th-17th centuries. The Armenian miniature - national tiny painting of medieval Armenia, Cilicia the Armenian empire and some Armenian colonies. The Armenian miniature has some the basic groups and stages of progress: till XI century; schools of Great and Small Armenia XI-XII centuries; Cilicia Armenia XII-XIV centuries; schools Bardzr-Ajka, Anyas, Artsakh, Gladzor, Tatev, Vaspurakan since XIII century; after XIII century also in colonies of the Armenian diaspora. In present “Album”, besides miniatures, pictures from two reliures of manuscripts are placed. One of them - well-known on a number of reconstructions - is considered reliure of ivory Etchmiadzin of the gospel work of VI century. Менее известен другой переплет: серебряный позолоченный чеканный оклад 1255 г. Киликийского евангелия (рук. №7690). Хотя окладов, как и других изделий, в торевтике сохранилось немало, но от раннего и зрелого средневековья их дошло весьма ограниченное количество. Кроме литературных источников, подтверждением того, что мелкая пластика средневековой Армении несомненно была развита, может служить воспроизводимый переплет 1255 г.
