Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 38 1/4" wood shaft iron. It is a 2 Mid Iron. 26* loft and a C 7 swingweight. Made by Spalding from their modified deep groove M series. Has Craig Wood's signature on the back. Wood was quite the accomplished golfer. He won both the Masters and US Open. He also finished second in the Masters twice as well as second in the U S Open, British Open and PGA championships and is a World Golf Hall of Fame member. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. The shaft has a minor bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. Hard to find pro name. If you are considering playing with this club all wooden shafted irons should be re-set prior to play. While I see no issues with the shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball. Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
