Description: Antique or Vintage 9" All-Original Cloth-Rag DollStraw "Palm Hat" [ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ] This is a lovely vintage handmade (folk art) cloth doll with fine yarn/floss hair. He has a red leather fringe belt at the waist, and his hat and trousers are made of plant materials. PROVENANCE: This was part of a collection that came up for sale at a large, established doll auction in Pennsylvania. There was another doll from the same estate that was from the French Antilles, and I believe this one is probably from that same area. There was no provenance included -- no indication of age, maker, or who the estate belonged to. I would estimate this doll's age (based on materials) c.1975-1995.AND PLEASE NOTE: The doll is being sold simply for his beauty and value as representing a part of North American history.
