Description: Original c. 1860s-1870s (earlier Indian Wars period) tintype of two seated men approximately in their later 20s or 30s, seated before a painted backdrop with two US flags on poles. Both wear checkered shirts and finger rings, their hats slung over their knees. Their jeans are hand-tinted blue. The man on the right has a forage hat with a five-pointed star badge on the front. Good condition with light surface wear and creasing. Measures 4" x 2 5/8" and is most likely a trimmed 1/4 plate. Unfortunately I have no information on the subjects' names, but the tintype did come from a recent estate in Springville, NY. From a smoke free home. Shipping on multiple items is combined whenever possible. Shipping rates are based on final weight and dimensions of packed item(s). Colors may differ slightly from reality due to differences in computer/mobile displays. Please bid with care and examine all photos and read entire description before bidding. Please pay within 7 days of auction's end. If payment is not made in a reasonable amount of time and no response is made to my messages, I will open an unpaid item case and you will be blocked from future bidding on my items.
