Description: This antique stoneware pitcher is a unique addition to any collection. With a round shape and incised and glaze painted decorations, it has a rustic French country style. The color is terracotta, cream and green. Measuring 7 1/2 inches in height and 5 1/2 inches in width, it has a diameter of 5 inches with the top opening 3 3/4 inches in diameter and is made of earthenware material. The pitcher has a half-glazed finish. The interior is not glazed and the exterior is glazed all but for the bottom 1/3. The top rim of the pitcher is double glazed, having been dipped into a green glaze with some spots of dripping. The condition is very good with a lovely patina. There are a few imperfections in the glaze from use and when the pitcher was fired in the kiln. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. This original piece was manufactured in Europe maybe @ 1900, the exact age is unknown. It is handmade and has a banded pattern with incised scallops with cream colored lines.
