Description: A Truly Antique Rosary. Circa late 1800s. ANTIQUE NICKLE. SANCTA TERESIA A JESU INFANTE. GERMANY. FRANCE. You will receive the exact rosary pictured. I have not attempted to clean it. This antique rosary is relatively small, 15" overall length. The crucifix measures 1.5". The rosary weighs 12.0 grams. This antique rosary has a nickel frame crucifix with wood inlay, front and reverse. The wood may be ebony, but I am not certain. The corpus appears to be brass. The crucifix is marked GERMANY on reverse. The centerpiece is metal, possibly steel. SANCTA TERESIA A JESU INFANTE on front. On reverse are the words: I WILL SPEND MY HEAVEN IN DOING GOOD UPON EARTH. The top right hanging loop is marked FRANCE. The top left hanging loop has a small triangle on it. These are difficult to see. There is a maker's mark just below the "S"ANCTA. The beads are hand-carved wood. I am not certain what type of wood. The beads are small, oval, about 4mm. The pater beads are round, also about 4mm. They are hand-carved with a spiral design. Overall, this rosary is in very good to good antique condition. It is 100% complete. It appears to have never undergone repair or replacement. Given its age (circa late 1800s), it is remarkable that this rosary has all the original beads and connective chain. There is age-related discoloration on the crucifix and centerpiece. The details on the centerpiece remain strong. The wording on the centerpiece front and reverse is fully legible. The crucifix has undergone some softening of details. The connective chain shows some intermittent surface rust, but this has not affected the overall integrity of the chain. Several photographs serve as the best descriptor for this antique rosary.
