Description: Intriguing antique 1920s (1921) original oil painting depicting a brilliantly detailed portrait of a Masonic man with mutton chop sideburns wearing what appears to be a Masonic Knights Templar Order of Malta medal around his neck. Very well done with pleasing brushstrokes and tremendous detail. Medium is oil on early Baystate Stretcher canvas (marked Boston, Mass) done in a Realist style. Signed by the artist in the bottom left corner, read “D. Harger ‘21”; quite worthy of further research. Framed in an antique Eastlake style etched ebonized wood frame with gold gilded interior frame and ready to hang. Painting in Good condition. Exhibits gentle wear consistent with age as well as an indent along the left side. No holes, rips or tears. Frame has a nice patina and shows some light chipping to the gesso in areas. Measures 12” x 10” and 15 7/8” x 13 7/8” with the frame. Please enjoy the photos for further item details and if you have any questions feel free to ask. This item ships Worldwide.
