Description: This is from the 1800s and made from the hide of a fawn deer and many glass, seed and trade beads. very old wool thread repair on one leg as shown. This is one of those items I could take 100 pictures of and they still wouldn't do it justice. Over the years it looks as though a number of the brass buttons have fallen off but many still there. Beads everywhere on the front as you can see. Select patches of fur were left to form a circle diamond circle pattern. The what would be the belt area has two pieces of wire, each wrapped in hand spun wool and the beads in that area are held on with fish gut thread as shown. One of a kind!!!! Measures 28 inches long and 16 1/2 inches across the main area. You will never find another one.
