Description: Here is a fine early Leeds type oval platter with pearlware glaze and blue feather edge pattern from Staffordshire, England. There are what appear to be abstract incised images of a young lady in the corners on the front. It dates from the early to mid 1800's. The platter measures 13⅜ inches long and 10¼ inches wide. It weighs 1¾ pounds before packaging. There are no maker's marks that I can see. There are some discoloration spots and some scratching, but otherwise this piece is in excellent condition for its age with no chips, nicks or cracks.
